Hi folks
I drive an M-reg '94 Omega Elite, and its headlights failed MOT for weak beam/discolouration.
The clear lenses are a bit "yellowish"., but everything else works fine on the headlights. :(
I read a thread about cleaning the plastic lenses, and might try this first. :-/
However, if I have to buy two headlights are all Omega headlights a straight swap ??
For example I have seen clear lens versions, projector versions. etc.
Can I fit lights from a '98 to my '94??
Oh, and are "facelift" headlights different ?? Guess they may be , but only guessing !
Any knowledge welcome... :y
Thanks

Facelift different. All others straight swap. Assuming no HID`s on your early model. Go for a set of projectors and fit "Osram nightbreaker" bulbs

OK.
Have my eye on a pair of projector lights from a '98 Omega.
But so confused by variations available. :-[
Thanks

Use toothpaste and some elbow grease to take the 'yellowing' off

And you`re still left with crappy early lenses ::)

OK, so I have seen projector headlights all with silver reflector/ insert.
So, if reflector is black or colour coded to car, are they road legal ?? :-?

I cleaned mine up using 600 wet & dry with soapy water then a polishing mop with lots of Tcut. If you think you have to change them anyway its worth a try. :y

Warning!!!!
Stoopid half asleep dopey question coming up....... :(
'99 Elite with xenon HIDs, does the cruddy discolouration mainly build up on the inner surface of the lens? If so, how easy are the lenses to remove?

The discolouration is on the outside.
Lenses can be removed, but were not intended to be by Vauxhall. When you remove the headlamp, you gentley ease the lens from the case while you gentley cut the black glue that's holding the two parts together. There's likely to be enough left on the two half to use to glue them back together afterwards
