Ive recently purchased a 53 plate omega 2.2 cdx auto saloon. Everything works as it should except the rev counter which had an intermitten fault at first and would get occassionally get 'stuck' half round the rev counter or would fly straight up to 7000 rpm and get stuck there. It also didnt move smoothly but jolted as the revs increased. Recently, the rev counter has stopped working all together and doesnt move at all when the car is started. I have no warning lights up on my dash. All the other dials work as they should and the car seems to drive as it should with normal idling and smooth power delivery. Is it a faulty rev counter ? A loose connection at the back of the dial ? or maybe a loose connection for a sensor somewhere ? Any help much appreciated.

sounds like you need a new one not hard to fit, have one here, or some one may have one on here closer to you.

Can you beleive it - after writing about the rev counter it started working perfectly again today. 1st time in about a week ! See how long it lasts for !
Thanks for the offer of your spare rev counter, same same but I shall keep this one for a bit longer and just keep an eye on it - the cars only done 35 k :)
