Title: Exhaust heat shield
Post by: splott on 12 June 2010, 17:24:05: Is there any easy way to stop the exhaust heat shield rattling?
Its driving me mad :'(

Post by: kev2b4 on 12 June 2010, 18:49:41: I would imagine the retaining bolts are totally corroded in - so you can't undo without shearing them off - but if you did this depending on access drill out and re-tap with ST ST bolts and copper grease - it helps but doesn't stop things seizing in the heat -- ( tried it at work several years ago - plenty copper slip - take out 1 hour later - still tight - mind you did get to 600 deg C in the meantime!)

I think it is the cat shields on the drivers side :y, bloody annoying rattle.
I'll try the jubilee clip stunt tomorrow
