Ok, here goes......
Car has been overheating. Thinking it was the rad fans failing to kick in, traced through the full circuit and all was ok, correct current path maintained.....
So after a puddle or two under the car, gets thinking that I've a coolant leak :(
Started at 12:30ish, went through the plenum, upper & lower inlet manifold removal procedure (what a tw%t the inlet manifold is to remove! >:( ) and find that the rubber seals on the coolant bridge unions on both sides have somewhat withered away with tell tale crystalline deposits on the coolant bridge >:(
By this point in time it was pushing on for 2pm and nowhere factor wise open, so Halfrauds was my only bet. Nothing suitable so ended up trying to fashion seals with a selection of O rings and the original seal steel outer rings. Rebuilt the manifold & plenum then refilled the coolant circuit with a correct mix. All in all a four & a half hour job :o
Took the car for a test drive and then you can imagine my complete feeling of disappointment when tell tale wisps of steam are billowing out from under the bonnet. Quick diversion to the petrol station, dropped in some more coolant mix and then drove home with the heaters on full pelt. >:(
So the question is, can the coolant bridge unions & seals be obtained from the stealers ( :o ), also how much is one looking at for a new HBV? :-?

Yes and around £30 on TC

I bought 4 new seals when I did my head gaskets, they were only £2 each from my local dealer.

Ta very muchly. :)
Only prob is that it'll be next weekend before I can get to do the b*ggers again. >:(
While I'm at it, I'll look at replacing the main coolant hoses (to of rad to thermostat, bottom of rad to exp tank & the blighters from the coolant bridge)
