Hi Everyone. I hope you're all having better luck with your Omega then i am....
My 2000 2.5 V6 Elite estate have starting problems..
Few weeks ago the car wouldn't start. it just kept turning over but would not fire up till the battery went flat. charge the battery over night and tried again next morning. still same problem. next day I Called the AA out. the AA man open the door and turn the key, it started first time. The car started every day for the next few weeks. then it hapened again. but it;s happening more and more frequent. It is a hit and miss issue. sometimes she will start other times she wont. Every morning my 10 year old daughter say a little pray that she would start so i could drop her off to school. when it don't i feel really bad, but hey if i had the funds i'll buy or get it sorted by main dealer. But i don,t yesterday and this morning i had to use easystart to fire up. the car runs well once it has been started. and will start as normal throughout the day. but if i leave it for over an hour or over night she will not start again. anyone know of this problem? i don't dare drive too far as i'm not sure if i'll get back. your help is much appreciated. come on England ;D

I'm guessing you will get a code 19 - crank sensor.

Easy enough to replace, one of the few things that stops an Omega dead... :(
Also, check the imobilisor indication on the MIL.... when the car doesn't start is the light flashing while cranking ?? If it is there's a chance the little chip in the key is loose and moving around. glue it back where it belongs !! Had that problem once .. took ages to find it !!

For gods sake please dont ever use easistart on anything......unless you want to be replacing rings and pistons!
As said, read the codes and dont be surprised to find a 19.

When you're stuck easy start is the only option. But i hear you loud and clear.
Where is this cranking sensor?any pictures to show me what i'm looking for?
Thanks
