Title: AR25
Post by: acura on 15 June 2010, 22:00:59
Hi, just a quickie.

I understand the 2.2 uses the AR25 auto trans, as does the 2.0, 2.5 & 2.6  Is this right? Will any AR25 fit the 2.2? Also, is it the AR35 which is a more robust trans thats fitted to the 3.0 & 3.2? Are these interchangable with the AR25?

Just interest at the moment but may be of use to me in the future.

If I've talked rubbish here please let me know  ;D

the AR35 is the stronger box as used on chipped 2.5TD`s,  i would imagine youll have to change the bellhousing over to suit the 2.2 block but thats easy enough as long as you are carefull taking it off without the oil pump etc coming out with it. :y

Cheers Alf, do you know if the Auto trans ECU would have to be changed?

you dont have to touch the ecu unless like mine it was knackered! (although TB will tell you otherwise ;D), ive never heard of an AR35 being fitted into a 2.2 but as long as the bellhousing is removable on your box i cant see a problem, youll probably have to use your original torque converter though. :y
