Title: 2.5 cd td HELP

hey guys new to this just bought a 2000 2.5 cd td omega havin a bit of trouble with it hope i havin bought a bit of scrap when running warm and changing gear it almost quits is this the egr valve? also tried to start is yesterday and would not turn over the battery was dead how do you know if the battery is charging
please help

need a bit more is light on dash (EML, looks like engine) or battery light ( looks like a battery) on when running, dose it hunt for fuel or air, is any thing else wrong.

everything else seems to be ok only just bought the car so i havin really had a good drive in her the eml light flickers when it starts to chug really hope i havin bought scrap here
any advice is greatly welcome

You best bet is paperclip test saves time and money on theory/guess work.
does the eml flash when you lift your foot off the gas

yeah the eml flashes when i lift my foot of the gas
does the egr valve just need cleaned out or poss the maf
plan on giving it a good service over the weekend so hopefully get it running like a clock

sorry for goin on abit here people but like i was sayin i just bought my first omega and tbh i think its had a hard life i lifted the bonnet today just for a nosey and to my horror i seen a black pipe at the bulk head that was blocked WITH A BAG like WTF [smiley=shocked.gif] and the heater wont turn off it blows constant hot air onto your feet
any 1 got any ideas  [smiley=sad.gif]

can you post a photo.
what size is the pipe roughly just in your original post you say its running rough and stalls the pipe you could be on about is the turbo charge pipe :o :o

Turbo charge pipe is the black plastic bit across the front says "Turbo diesel" on it, is that blocked off or the one going to the air filter?...........see pic

its not the one that says turbo diesel its a pipe at the very back of the engine ill get a pic on tonight and maybe you could get a quick look at
