anyone know about upgrading the chip in the ecu ? 1999 m51 engine omega x25dt.

removed immobiliser in ecu at last !!!  :y  now want it to go faster and these dont do obd2 :-/ for upgrades for power.

you will need the 10 digit figure from the ecu then a chip can be suplied from mild to aggressive accompanied by fair bit of black smoke, shouldnt think that would bother you though in that beast!! :y

The 427 offers more scope than many of the other ECUs.  The guy I know charges £70 delivered for a chip. You may get something cheaper from ebay etc, but I know this guy has supplied chips to many members here, with high satisfaction results.


I had one off him when I had my 2.5TD (428 ECU, not so much choice on maps).

got the chip fitted !!!
smokes a bit....then we tested it

shot up the road in 1st gear, maxed the throttle and then it kicked, ran like a bag of spanners with WHITE SMOKE

turned it off and restarted....runs sweet....ideas?

over revved and thrown into limpmode you mean ? does this chip have no limiter ?

anyone know what code 00140 means? the snapon machine just says its undocumented  :-[

its takes it up to the BMW spec can't mind bhp sorry :-/
