Do a search on here - lots of posts/advice on this.
If really bad use fine (1000) wet and dry, followed by cutting compound, followed by TCut :y

I used toothpaste with a rough cottom cloth and it improved them drastically - better than t-cut

Nope!!
Was advised by an optician (of all people!!) the best way to clean glass is with toothpaste, it apparently contains something that not only mildly abrades the glass, but polishes at the same time.
Try it, you may well be surprised at the results.. ;)

Thats quite correct - but if very yellow needs something a bit more drastic!

Household alternates to cutting pastes and compounds include Brasso and toothpaste, through T-cut upto jif (Cif?) lemon cleaner and thence to the washing up Scotchpad and green plastic wire wool square!
Its not always proprietry compounds that can do a deed.... ;)

I tried just using wet & dry up to 2500 but without success. Then used Greygate plastic polish (as suggested in the link) & it worked a treat. You can buy in on ebay

So suggest you try it if the smokers toothpaste doesn't work.

Foggy and yellowed auto lights are not only unsightly, but reduce the amount of light that is projected. The headlights usually become hazed after years of exposure to sunlight, car waxes, soap and other cleaning chemicals. We will show how to use an everyday cleaning product to restore cloudy and yellow vehicle lights.
