:-/A little was floating around in Immingham this morning @ 03:30/04:00 when 2 of us left for Millom.(Cumbria) All fine until we hit the B5092 ( Greenod to Millom ). No snow but running water from yesterday had frozen/slushed. The aforementioned B5092 is 16miles long & in an artic with 25+ tonne takes 45 mins to drive on a good day.
The gradients are steep either way & narrow to say the least. Going down Grizebeck was the scariest 5mph i've ever done & getting up some of the others is dodgy with all the weight pulling you back & taking weight off the drive wheels. Downhill... if it lets go @ 5mph you can't do much 'coz if the trailer takes an angle it pushes the unit where it wants. Uphill, hope no cars dither in front of you. If you have to stop getting going again is a problem. No impacts today but 1 landy, 1 plastic 4x4 & 2 cars found fields /dry stone walls all by themselves!
Sorry for long post but 3 of us are off again tomorow!!! ::)

Turkey gets lots of snow .. we used to have to carry arctic survival kit when flying over Lake Van and Tat-Van in Eastern Turkey .... damned cold (but beautiful) to look at... glad we never had to land .....

Loads here, less on my morning commute as I neared the town but naughty on the slippy roads. As I crawled along in a FWD Citroen, Traction light flashing more than my Christmas tree, I thought of all those out there in their RWD Miggy’s with traction off broad sliding around some of the lovely sweeping bends.
Why do Range Rover drivers feel the need to bully other drives, they obviously have little experience in the snow and ice, 4 wheels skid as much as 2!!!!!!!!!! Talking A177 not Kyber Pass!!!!!!!!!!!
Even more when I got home.
