3.0 litre, pre face lift.
Are the 2,5 and 3.0 Cats the same
Are they the same for Saloon or Estate.
What do they cost new
Where's the best place to get them.
Doing some checking as the Elite is due to be tested 21st July, finished the front disks and pads off today, chacked tyres etc.
As we were looking a a tinty water leak I have my mate sptted what he thinks is a split in the seam on the drivers side Cat, need to recheck as space was limited.
Now fuel enomomy is down but assumed it to be binding pads (Metal to metal) and low tyre pressures. was sub 20mpg last time out. This time was 37mpg ave there, and 27mpg ave back ( was rudhing though) so if it is blowing not sure how much it may be affecting mpg.
I have a complete exhast system inc cats I bought of ebay before I joined the forum with the idea my 2.5 might need all or some of it at some stage.
I think it was from a 2.5 saloon, but when I got there it was mentioned it might be from annother car and got muddled up, the system still had all the stickers on and looked brand new.
But just checking all my options in case i still need to buy new.
TIA. :y

I think all front pipes are the same (except ex police)
Expensive new, but dont know how much
3rd party often dubious quality.
I would get 2nd hand of a breaker :y

What is the difference in ex-police front pipes?

Dunno but they are £750 plus vat each! (for the 3.2's)

What are the part numbers for police and "regular"? iirc EPC tells only one code...

the police are:
Exhaust front pipes
3.2 (police) RH 13125592 £749.00 £674.55 £600.05
3.2 (police) LH 13125593 £749.00 £674.55 £600.05
the others arent on trade club...
but part no's for 2.5 and 3.0 are
RH - R1120044
LH - R1620043
3.2 are
RH -24461726
LH - 24461727
2.6 are
RH - 24456829
LH - 24456830
I Think...EPC gets a bit confusing.

I allready have a pair plus a full system with single outlet for my 2.5.
I bought the lot on Ebay, the guy does recovovery work for motorway accidents and breakdowns and with the storage etc when written off he has the chance to buy.
this exhuast has the paper stickers on and I think is genuine Vx, cats are in excellent condition externally apart from damage to one of the heatsheilds with wasnt metioned in the add. Bought them about 3 years ago so wont go amiss with 2 cars.
Thanks for the help and replies. :y

Police spec downpipes are double skinned to allow better heat dissapation and to partially prevent reduction in gas flow, when they take a knock or several whilst in service.
