Title: Omega Automatic Gearbox
Post by: Jabbadad on 01 July 2010, 07:29:15
Who can I contact ?Ref adjusting the automatic gearbox in my omega to change into Top Gear at say 45mph instead of the present situation when it changes up at 52mph?

The shift points on the automatic gearbox are software controlled and therefore not adjustable. There is an update for the gearbox ECU that improves the autobox in many ways but I'm afraid adjusting the shift points is not possible.

IME, though, most Omegas are in top gear at around 45 MPH. What engine are you running?

Would the 'sport' button hold onto the gears for longer?

Think he may be refering to the point the "lock" activates, which IIRC is about 52ish

My omega GLS Auto is a W Reg 06 06 2000, And is 1998cc.
And yes it definately won't go into Top until 52mph even with using a soft accelorater pedal. My reason for asking is that on the " B Roads around here, everyone seems to drive at 48mph, so I seem to always be in 3rd gear.
Thanks for responce.
