Title: Tapping cold start,now "put putting" white smoke!

Had DIS pack, HT leads and plugs done at Dealership a few weeks ago, drove to Cornwall and bak, 500 miles, perfect.

Developed a tapping from cold start, disappears after 2 or 3 mins of driving, ATS can't see any exhaust issues, had an oil and filter change done, some Wynns Valve lifter lube added, all to no effect.

Now I have a "putt putt putt" with white smoke from the exhaust aswell as the tapping on cold start ups? :'(

No symptoms at all after the car has been driven and up to temp?????

Gary....

sounds similar to mine,  apparently the o/s exhaust gasket is the problem, expansion "seals" the gap when warm. Bit of a piggy to do, exhaust centres don't want the job, allow 4hrs(!!!!!) to do it yourself properly, and don't only do one side............

Sorry!!   not a quick easy fix.
