Having a wonderful time changing my ATF but only got about 3-4 litres out when dropping the sumps. Was expecting a fair bit more and am wondering if I have missed something?
Fluid was absolutely rank btw

About right if memory serves .. system hold around 7 litres, most of which is in the torque converter, and can't be got out without tipping the box up !! Not recommended whilst in the car !!
Some folks say you can get more out by using an airline on the oil coler lines but I've not tried it ...
So a "sump drop" changes about 50%, if you do another in about a week you'll have changed 75% which seems to be the recommended way.
Those that suggest this obviously have shares in shampoo manufacturing !!!

Changed mine yesterday and got just over 5lt plus the bit that i spilt so probably 5.25lt.
Won't be doing it again. I only spilt a little bit but don't it spread, it looks like BP have been drilling on my drive >:( can't get rid of the stuff, spent an hour with the pressure washer and degreaser last night and it ain't even touched it.

if you only manage to change 50%, its 50% better then last time.
engine oil suffers the rigours of combustion not like atf.
