Title: Exhaust rattle
Post by: geoffr70 on 13 July 2010, 22:57:03
Hello, I've got a rattle from the exhaust system, somewhere in the centre. I've read before on here that it could be the heat shields (I can't find it now though). I've heard something about using a jubilee clip?!?! I thought about cutting it with tin snips and moving it round which solved the problem of a misaligned aftermarket exhaust on a previous car of mine that was rattling. Do you think this would work? Any help appreciated, thanks.

i had a rattle on mine and it was the brake pipes hitting the exhaust, because the plastic clips that hold them to the body had snapped i just zipp tied the brake pipes togeather and is fine

My heat shield was rattleing and I fixed it by putting some Gungum behind it. you cant see any repair either. (Gungum exhaust paste )
and looks better than a jubilee clip.

Wish I could find mine. I have been fully under it and cannot trace where the tinny rattle is from. Everything I have looked at, pulled, poked, shook, banged and swore at was as tight as a ducks A***E. I even checked the disk backing plates!
Next step is the old earplugs I reckon.
