Post by: M Kerr on 25 July 2010, 13:46:11
Hello All,

Some of you might not believe I'm still messing about with my Mig and still the dis pack.  At the moment she's stripped so that I can see the dis pack.  I know there are a couple or 3 but how do I identify which I've got.  I know the answer's on the forum because I've seen it befor but I can't find it now.  Any help o identifying what I've got please?

Many Thanks ::)

3 types.

The first early type was mounted verticaly (generaly 97.5 model year or earlier).

They then for a short period went to a horizontaly mounted one with a rectangular socket on it (about 12 months of production).

This was then repalced with one with a more rounded connector which was used until production of the 2.5 and 3.0 ended.

Your is most likely to be the oval type.

Here is the rectangular connector type:

And the oval type:

And so far, the aftermarket items have proven to be very reliable
