Title: Crank Sensor Replacement Urgent Help Needed
Post by: Alex W on 24 July 2010, 13:12:51
I've unplugged the old crank sensor and have connected the new sensor to the block.

It seems to me that the replacement crank sensor cable is a little on the short side for much rerouting.

I have managed to disconnect the old one but presumably I need to move its connector off its plastic retaining bracket and reposition it to face towards the  passenger side front corner to meet the new cable end? The new cable doesn't appear long enough to return it all to its original position.

Sorry if this seems a bit dim but I am still quite inexperienced. Your patience is appreciated.

I seemed to have the opposite when i originally did mine. I fitted the Sensor end forst then routed it up round the bell housing some syphon tubing. I managed to lose some of the spare by re routing it up again so it came up on the right side and used the breather pipes to assist in losing the last of the slack. May be worth persisting with a few times.

Just done exactly the same on the Estate - doesn't look long enough to reroute, but in fact plenty long enough :y
