hi all have had alot of over heating problems. The other day i used a strong chemical 2 part cooling system flush. Loads of crap came out it took me 3hours to flush properly untill the water ran clear.
The temp used to run OVER 100 and since i done the flush running 95-97.5 much better.
i would just like to know if this is an average temp for a 3.0 v6 ? also what temp should the first fan speed kick in ? MANNY THANKS :)
-
My 3.0 runs at 88-89 C. If I am sitting in a traffic jam on a hot day it does go up to 92-93. I believe this is normal for the 3.0.
I am not sure at what temp the fans should kick in. ;)

Yup, should rise to 97ish in traffic, fans come on, back to 95, it should never go past 100 :y

Thanks tunnie for your replies the fan is kicking in at 97 then cooling down a bit
might do another flush to make sure the cooling sys is all clear
many thanks duane :y :y

I think from what you first described you have flushed enough. ;) ;)
Your engine temp sounds perfectly ok to me; as already said as long as it does not go above 100 it is all ok. 8-) 8-) 8-)
Miggy V6's run very hot as standard. :) :)

Hello again its been a week since i done the flush and now my omega is is creeping back up2 and past the100 mark any ideas?

Get the rad changed quick!
-
might be worth doing a gas test on the block to make sure it isnt cracked, are you losing water on the rad?(white salt marks)
-
Not losing any coolent and have had a block test done and it was all clear
-
are you sure the thermostat and rad fans are working correctly?
