Title: Breather cleaning
Post by: GaryBC on 26 July 2010, 10:23:20
Hi guys

In the How To section there's a guide explaining how to clean out the crankcase breather system. I can follow it all the way until it gets to an item variously called a "Vent Housing" and a "Crankcase Breather Box". The guide includes a photo of this item but, as it is taken from the rear of an engine that is out of the car it is difficult to relate this to it's position in-situ plus, more importantly, it's removal procedure!

An in-situ pic of it's location, and a removal guide, would be very much appreciated!

Cheers guys,
Gaz

Its behind number 5 cylinder. Remove scuttle for better access.

i have just removed and cleaned my breather box which involves removing wipers, scuttle, wiper mechanism and plunum, and on mine the coil pac and plug which sits over it. Should give you an idea of location, it is not necessary to remove all this lot purely for cleaning as the guide of course, just for info.

might help.

Totally stupid question, but #5 pot being the rearmost of the offside (r/h) bank?
