I've have just done paperclip test & got 44 & 45. I'm having trouble with speedo not working could this be causing them problem & what does it meen?
-
45 - Oxygen sensor - Air/fuel mixture too rich
46 - Air pump relay - High voltage
Wouldn't have thought either of these would affect speedo.
Could be sensor on rear axle or abs ecu - are the abs and tc lights on?
-
abs & tc lights off.

abs & tc lights off.
Do they come on when ignition turned on? If not has someone removed bulbs?
Tried reseating dashboard?

I've took the dash out & cleaned all contacts as I'm also having problems with the speedo working on & off. The codes are 44 & 45 which makes me think its the sensor as 44 istoo lean & 45 too rich.

I believe the speedo fault and the engine stored codes are seperate items.
If this is a 1996 car, the ABS ECU's are pretty resilient in them, so would look at the speedo in isloation (assuming MID still gives plausible speed info for mpg etc)
