If a car has already been driven with a fooked oil cooler, I take it shouldnt be driven like this for much longer?
May need to shift a v6 to get the repair done about 15 miles. Is this likely to wreck summat?

It is prolonged damage that is the problem...
You are pumping an oil / water mix instead of just coolant round.
1, You dont have efficient cooling any more.
2, The oil will attack and soften rubber pipes - you may have premature failure with any hoses in the furture.
3, the more oil that gets pumped through the radiator and or heater matrix, the less efficient they both become, and more and mroe flushing witll be neccessary.
but in short, 15 miles is not really going to make a difference
