Title: Spring compreesors, screwfix
Post by: omegod on 05 August 2010, 20:07:26
Hi,

Need some spring compressors and saw these which look quite cheap, anyone used them or think they will do the job? Or do you have any other reccomendations?

These are the ones I have...

Never had any problems with them, even if just two are used, they look more durable than the ones you are looking at?

I much prefer single-finger compressors (like the ones linked by Brikhead) to the two-finger ones on screwfix.. I have a couple of sets of two-finger compressors and I've yet to find a car where both fingers sit nicely on the coils.  One-finger compressors always fit perfectly (I have a 2-piece set. I suppose 3 is safer, but I've not yet had a coil make a bid for freedom.. touch wood!)
