What tread patterns work best with the Omega.
Forget cost and brand etc for the moment.

Heard a story a few years ago where a passenger had been taken out in a fully works prepared Audi Quatro rally car, they were out for a 20 minute "Joy ride" on full tarmac slicks when they were pulled by police.
When questioned the driver didnt deny anything and was just about to be read his rights when the passenger leaned forward and said "it's all right lads I am dealing with it" appaerenly it was someone who was high up in the "Force" and he said we're just road testing it.

Must confess I tend to end up with Asymmetric or Rotational tyres... Not really a deliberate choice but I suppose if you're buying reasonable quality that is what you tend to get :-/

I like the tread pattern, but surely they would have to mould them in opposing pairs for the pattern tread pattern to work correctly.

I really do like them, but would allways wonder how them would perform in heavy/standing rain when one side off the car is pushing water one way and the opposite side of the car pushing water the other way, and even moreso at the point a car starts to aquaplane.

the more work i do with tyres, the more I'm convinced that the tread pattern is lttle more than fashion.

the fact the tyres with opposing tread patterns proves exactly that imo, bike tyres need "a tread" in the wet, the pattern makes bog all odds. Full wets have a heavy tread form two reasons, 1, to shift water, 2, to allow the tread blocks to move and generate heat making the compound more sticky, which is primarily what makes wets so grippy in the wet, not the tread itself. The second reason has bog all to do with road tyres as they would melt in dry conditions.
The percentage of tyre/tread or gap in the contact patch may come into it, but only to make the tyre more suited to wet or dry conditions, track day tyres and winter tyres for example? The shape of the grooves? makes no odds it seems to me.
So yes pure fashion imo. Tyres manufacturers making the most of a legal requirement. And why not?

Ok, so I am vain. but I do like things to look equal.
Wonder what 225/55/16's cost for the elite. If not daft money I might try some.

I would think that tread pattern has a lot to do with noise from a tyre or is that incorrect.
