Just done front pads and disc this morning to find the discs are the earlier smaller diameter :-?
So the pads over hang by 5mm.
1) is this a problem
2) do I need the larger discs or is there a slimmer pad I can fit?
Fortunately I only need the car tomorrow for a 40 mile round trip before doing anything.
So if discs need to be changed may have a cheap pair of newish discs for pre 98 miggies.

All Omega brake discs (except very early 2.0's) all use 296mm discs, did you get them from a dealer?
-
Off the 'bay as NOS. box labelled as 3.0 omega and model numbers checked as correct on manufacturers website. Contents appear to be correct to box.
Paid under £30 inc postage.
Just need to get a 296mm set.

did the eGay advert specify the size in mm?
-
Wouldn't even consider driving it in that condition mate.
Pattern disks no good on Omegas - you'll get brake judder in a short while - go for genuine Vx disk and pad set :y

Just checked again, must be the hot weather!
Omega 3.0 must mean Carlton 3.0 - as in Omega A

Carlton front disks were 258mm dia
Early Omega 2 lit were 286 mm dia
Believe Carlton 3 Lit disks were 280mm dia with the Carlton 3 lit 24 valve being 296 mm dia.
Yours should be 296mm dia - the 5mm overhang suggests you got early Omega 2 Lit disks.
