Title: emissions

I have a w reg omega 2.o ltr 16v gls, which has failed 2 mot on emissions, does anyone have any ideas what it could be and do i need to change the cat?. The car has passed the mot on everything else its just i want it on the road,  and i forgot to say ots an auto if that makes a difference.

Did they mention anything about the condition of the exhaust, or any leaks on it.

What did they actually put regards the emmisions on the fail sheet.

If it was CO and hydrocarbons it doesn't look good for the CAT, the engine may have been overfuelling and may have killed the CAT, or the CAT may have just expired.
