I had poor reaction from the gas pedal especially going uphill, decided to check for blockage in pipe from egr to underside of manifold. No blockage but the pipe was split just below the nipple under the manifold.
Cut off bad section and reconnected, this gave an immediate and very noticeable increase in response.
Did paperclip test and got the following:
17 Fuel Temperature Voltage High
44 Incorrect Boost Pressure
49 Glow Device General Error
The car is running very well and starting without any problems. Only concern is that the temp gauge rarely goes above 50 degrees. I plan to change the thermostat (when I figure out how) I suspect it's stuck open.
I assume 44 is a result of the split pipe and will eventually clear itself.
I assume 49 is one or more dodgy glow plugs, although the car starts first time now I did have a bit more difficulty starting over the winter. As for 17 I don't have a clue.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
