The part in the center.

View looking from the top down.

and looking from the ground up

so the 2 studs are comming away on the same side (inside 2)
The door feels as though if does jump pretty hard from notch to notch on the metal arm.
Just knock it back in and get a couple of spot welds?
thanks ;)

I've done a few of these now. Take the bolt and plastic ring out, knock it back in and a seam weld top and bottom. :y

Thanks Welung 8-) cheers mate

Fit a new plastic bush to the bolt when you refit it (PN: 90462823 (19p +VAT retail)).
Mine has started the 'Click of Death' :( so I am opening the door very gently at the moment until I can get to a dealer to get a new bush.

I've got the same problem but do not have a welder :'( Does anyone know if there's enough room to put a bolt thgouhg the plate and pillar?

The problem is that it's blind (no access to the rear as it's inside the pillar box section).
A rivet or rivnut would probably not be strong enough. Needs to be welded really, IMHO.

Mine started that the other day, and it has just had a new bush.
It was loose just needed nipping up :y

Thanks for the info, now I'm not going to drill it just to find out it's blind :y

You'd be better off going to a local body shop & asked them to run a weld around it. Vauxhall like nice easy jobs they can do with parts from the shelf. ;)

If this is welded with a MIG welder I assume that the alternator needs disconnection is it necessary to disconnect anything else
