Not Happy :( :(
Just got back from MOT and it has failed on Both Headlights being to High and the OffSide beam Pointing the wrong way.
Any one got any ideas how i can adjust this so it will pass?
-
level sensor on the front nearside wishbone popped out?
-
It did a while back :'( but i put it back in, but obviously in the wrong position.
What should i do to correct this?
-
I would say its more than likely to be the headlight adjusters broken.
-
Wheel off, good squirt of Plusgas on each sensor leg pivot ball, & a couple of cable ties to hold the sensor head onto the main body :y
-
How do you see if the adjusters are broken?
Also what about the beam pointing the wrong way, is this changeable to drive abroad
-
Pop off one of the rubber bulb covers and try moving the innards with your fingers. If they move more a millimetre or two then the adjusters are broken. Have a look in the parts section for a sticky at the top for replacements :y
-
if you take off the headlight rubber cover, grab the bulb holder, gentle pull and push will tell you, chances are the adjuster has fell to bits.
replacement bits in the off shop.
(too slow)
dont forget to check the beam setting lever is in the correct position.
-
Okay will go and try that now :y
-
Just be careful, its quite high voltage at the back of there ;)
-
I can move the bit with the bulbs in back and forward about 1cm and up and down a bit as well i guess there knackered :'( :'( :'(
-
Easy and relatively cheap fix. Just think if you had to replace the headlamps :y
-
Its a common one, replace the crap plastic adjusters with the alloy one available to the forum members ;)
-
Okay where do i get these from?
-

That would usually put a warning message on the dash, e.c.u. detects no movement so registers a fault.

On my Vectra which was equipped with xenon headlights there was a lever which would alter the beam pattern to suit left hand drive vehicles, also when first switched on the headlights would rise and then drop down to their correct position, this was easily noticeable each time the lights were on. I would assume the Omega should do the same?
