Title: tracking
Post by: pauls on 07 September 2010, 00:10:58
Good evening. Could anybody please tell me what my tracking should be. I had the wishbones replaced about 2 weeks ago tracking done but it does not feel right.when you turn on a slow corner it feels like it is falling over. Also in a straight line it jumps around a lot any response would be great thanks

Tracking wouldn't cause that, sounds like a joint not in right, causing wishbone to go down too far, and hop about,or wrong loose bushes,

Have a search, tracking is far from the whole story, camber is the bigger issue, also caster to a lesser extent.

See wheels in motion website for "full geometric set up" oof get a discount at Chesham head office.

That does not sound good.

Some other things you should check out before forking out money for tracking again.

Tyres
trackrod balljoints worn.
idler arm joint worn.
pitman arm.
springs broken.
shock absorbers.
Rear:
Subframe bushes, springs, shocks.

When you are sure these are all in order then it's time to look at the tracking.

Firstly, they weren't 'Delphi' w/b's were they? - i had megga probs with them.  Lemforders are recomended and which WIM use - also a trip to WIM in Chesham would be advisable; not far for you as in Hayes.  :y :y

tracking is a waste of money on Omegas, they need a proper geometry check...
