Started to fit a leather set of seats, rear ones in all okay. Looking at the passenger seat the bolts are scratched and I can see non-standard cables so I reckon this seat has been out before.
Any way, one of the bolt heads (torx) has damage...............points ground off............ :(
Ideas to remove this bolt would be welcomed! :)
(The battery had been disconnected for 30 mins before I started - air bags and all that! :y)

Weld a nut on the top and then use a standard socket.

(dont know why but "porridge" entered my head.)
depends on what tools and access to the bolt you have.
welding and angle grinding all make sparks which under a new seat might not be good.
air chisel if you have one or good old lump hammer and chisel..

Can you expand on that.....? What happens to the air bags if the battery was disconnected for just a minute or two, ie being replaced....? :)

removing the battery connection prior to any air bag work for 10mins plus removes some of the danger of air bag detonation.

I had this problem when I removed the cloth seats from my old Mig to put leather in. I hammered /chiselled/ cut/butchered the rails of the old seat until I could get a lever underneath and prise the seat up past the head of the bolt. I then used molegrips on the bolt and got it out. Hth. :y

Just be aware that even after the battery has been disconnected for any amount of time, the air bags can still go off from static or knocks, I've seen it loads of times!

I too used mole grips to remove the seats from my omega... took some time ,,but well worth it.. :D
