Hi does anyone know where the small vac pipe from the heater valve on the o/s of the engine (near the headder tank )go to mine has pulled out and resulted in no vacuum to the heater at all no control at all. Thanks Chris.
-
I had a look on mine but can't see what you're seeing. If you could be more specific. Have you got air conditioning. :-/
-
Hi yes it has aircon the heater matrix pipes come forward from the bulkhead on the o/s,there is around valve in the middle of one of the pipes with a vacuum take off,the vac pipe goes towards the bulkhead but mine is not connected to anything
-
That is the HBV, does it just have the elbow and no pipe?
-
I thought it was the hbv but was not sure it only has two water pipes connected and one vac pipe yes with an elbow and a length of black vac pipe. ta
-
If you follow the matrix pipes back to the bulkhead the vac pipe connects on the plate between the 2 matrix pipes slightly to the passenger side. It's easier to see with the skuttle removed :y
-
Thanks will have a look if not will take some piccies and post them cheers.

Have removed wipers scuttle and wiper linkage, still cannot find where this pipe goes.one vac pipe is connected to the left of the top matrix pipe ,it goes to ns into scuttle (heater box near pollen filter) There is also a vac pipe from one way valve on main vac pipe from vac pump,This also goes to heater box near pollen filter. Also on one way valve is a pipe that goes to egr valve and sensor near battery and that is it.i have taken a photo of matrix pipes and one way valve.(http://)http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/SDC11007.jpg(http://)http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/SDC11003.jpg(http://)http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/SDC11004.jpg(http://)http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/SDC11005.jpg

Sorry I totally forgot about your PM! I'll try and remember to take some pictures of where mine all go tomorrow - I'll point out where they're slightly non-standard (since where they originally attach to is broken on mine).. although I'll be damned if I can find the HBV on mine!
-
On the td i think the pipe goes to the box on top of the pollen filter housing,i could check tomorrow if your still stuck :y
-
Your photo doesn't load Tutts. I'll try and take a couple now for you ;)

Photobucket album (http://)http://s920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/ sorry.Chris.
-
Everything else seems ok(pipes onto top of pollen filter/pipes onto one way valve/ pipe onto matrix take off. Its just the one from the hbv the pipe is only about 300mm long so it must go somewhere near matrix pipes?
-
Right looking at your pics....
This one goes right on the bulkhead into the pollen filter vacuum box
(http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/chris230163/car/SDC11004.jpg)
In this one the vac pipe is the one I have labelled blue in my photo also going into the pollen filter vac box...

My photos (taken in the dark ;D )
Green = HBV
Red = HBV vac pipe going in through the matrix pipe plate where marked.
Blue = Return vac pipe going across to the pollen filter vac box.

Hope that has helped :y

Its the hbv one with the elbow on near the aircon valve.Does it go through the bulkhead too near the matrix pipes,i cannot seem to find a hole :'(
-
Yes it does. If you feel from the blue labelled pipe it's 1/2" below it or follow the pipe back from the HBV. If you take the undertray from the drivers footwell you will see the 2 pipes coming in :y
-
Cheers i will have a look tomorrow its a good job im on holiday this week and dont need my car. :y
-
If you need more pics just ask :y or pm me your number and I'll text you mine ;) :y

Thanks think i should be ok now and will hopefully have a heater by the end of the day. I also cleaned out my bulkhead drain yesterday a job ive been putting off, glad i did it now it was well blocked (no more water into heater from pollen filter) Thanks in advance again Chris.
-
Finally managed to find the orofice that the pipe fits into.Must have pulled it when i changed fuel filter in june. What a stupid idea for a connector,Thanks again for the help i am getting pretty good at working on the engine now most things are tight to work on but have got the knack now. 8-)
-
Glad you're getting there :y I have to agree that there is less room in a TD engine bay than the V6's!
-
Well the pipe is still connected but i still do not seem to have vacuum at the heater(i remember hearing a sucking noise when changing from screen to floor etc before but not now) I think the flaps inside the heater box work off the vacuum so i must have a stuck flap, will have to investigate.
-
Well it looks like all of the vac pipes are ok,i removed the glove box yesterday to check the passenger side of the heater box and all seems ok,Then i had a think and wondered if there was a fuse for the hheater controls, looked in the book and it could be fuse no14 will have to investigate.
