Title: mainfold and spark plug question

Hi

Having probs with my 2.2 petrol omega

firstly 2 spark plugs have somehow shot out of the head losing the thread in the head, can the head be helicoiled without taking it off?

also im looking for a manifold, found a 2 litre manifold (the gaskets are the same for the 2 litre and 2.2 but is the manifold the same too?

any help would be greatly received as i really need to get it back on the road for work

Heads can be helicoiled.

I know the manifolds are different, as the 2.0l would have SIA stuff on it. Whether or not it can be made to fit, no idea...

thanks for the the help, whats SIA?

just been offered a mainfold from a 02 reg but would the manifolds be the same? is the same fitted to the Y and Z engine as i have the Y engine

the gaskets are the same so surely the mainfold should be too?

If its an 02 reg (Omega) then it will be a 2.2 so the manifold will fit.

The threads can be ehlicoiled but, they will have failed due to some muppet overtightening the plugs in the past!  :y
