We had our first rain for 3 months, I put the wipers on and one misbehaved big time. Fortunately the passenger side as it was raining very heavily.
I've taken the arm off and the splines inside the arm have gone completely. The wiper motor spindle looks acceptable.
How much would a new arm be approx and presumably it is a VX(Opel) for me item only?

We had our first rain for 3 months, ....
you can have some of ours! It's poured down all day so far :'(

I am not sure that the wiper arms actually have splines as such :-/
The wiper shaft is tapered steel with serrations on the taper. The arm is aluminium.
I would clean any swarf out of the tapers and refit it. Nip it up tight and let the serrations bite into the softer metal of the arm.

Good suggestion but the hole is so worn that with the nut on tight it isn't biting on the spline. I need another one S/H or new. The part number is GM 90493825RH .

How about these? ;) Although your Opel dealer might work out as cheap if you consider the postage costs from the UK. :-/

I have overcome this problem in the past by wrapping alumium foil (cooking type) around the spindle and then tighten up the nut,

I'll give that a go. Good suggestion , thanks. ;D ;D ;D ;D
