Title: Small S shaped vaccum hose?
Post by: bubbaphatass on 20 September 2010, 10:07:50
Right at the front of the engine, to the left of the battery, is a small almost S shaped hose, seems to be "sucking in air" from the small crack in it, replacement on order but can I still drive it ok? Sorry I'm so crap with anything mechanical :D

If it's hard plastic and about 3/16" diameter it's probably a vac pipe. A couple of turns of insulating tape should fix it.

If it's soft(er) rubber and/or bigger than 3/16" it could be anything! A pic might help someone here identify it!

Perhaps you can pinpoint in the picture,

Appears like the Secondary Air Injection related but I don't know much about various UK models.

Cheers

Tape it up as a running repair - its only cold air inside the pipe anyway.

Thanks, didn't know if it was important, just fitted a new hose anyway. :)
