Title: New Parking rules from March - What a nonsense!
Post by: wakeyomega on 12 January 2008, 07:24:21
I think this government has a death wish - the latest legislation to hit motorist is parking.
Quote "For the first time, councils outside London will be able to issue fines by post using CCTV evidence. They will also be able to issue a penalty even when a motorist has driven away before a ticket can be physically placed on their car. Councils will also be able to penalise actions such as parking next to a dropped kerb or parking too far away from the kerb" whole story here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7184510.stm

This will give the little hitler wardens a field day - how far is "too far away from the kerb", can you imagine how the jobs worths will use that one. The only good news is that they will get tougher on people who park in disabled bays illegaly - one of my pet hates.

Oh............. good morning everyone.

Morale of the Story if you get a ticket, APPEAL..........some of youmay recall my letter through the post last July/August for getting stuck in the hatched box, well I appealed it, got a response, I never replied, they sent another letter, I sent in a statutory declaration, they went to court, declaration got upheld. Now I am still waiting on TFL to issue the original penalty fine again ::)

...and once more the great motoring public will roll over and accept all this drivel from a clearly anti-car government - see below.  :( :(

I notice that they want to reduce the voting age to 16 to stop the apparent decline in voting numbers. Er, hello? The reason people have given up on voting is the fact that they know they have no influence on government policies. This anti-car nonsense being a fine example.
I'm beginning to think that democracy is coming to an end in the UK.  >:(
