I'm not sure how much of a problem I am facing, but when i've been driving for a few miles, the Immobilizer warning light comes on (and stays on). When I stop and restart, it goes out for a while and then lights up again after a few miles. The Handbook says:
"This might be a fault with the engine electronics system. In some cases the fault can be eliminated by switching the engine off and back on again. If the control indicator again lights up when the engine is running, consult a Vauxhall Dealership to have the cause of the fault eliminated".
What sort of fault might this be, and what sort of job (and cost) would I expect to be facing?

I think you may need a code reader on this one. Hang on a minute, someone with more knowledge of the 2.2 will be along.

Which light, the "engine" pic, or the "spanner" one :question

Needs codes reading if its the spanner light chances are some form of emissions fault ;)

"Engine" light ;)

It's the light with the spanner in a car.
I tried connecting a OBDII reader, but it only came back with "No Code" ....so?

It looks like it wants connecting to a proper TechII, I think Kevin Wood is your nearest, send him a PM.

Yes, get it on a decent code reader. Location of Tech2s on this forum:

"Engine" light ;)
Control indicator for exhaust emission or engine electronics. :y
But as everyone has said without connecting upto a code reader its impossible to say, if the reader you used was a cheapo ebay thing chances are it won't connect with the 2.2 some do some don't. Proper tech 2 the way forward and get the updates done at the same time :y
