Title: 1 down 1 to go
Post by: Richie London on 08 October 2010, 17:14:17
right, gearbox sawted, excellent job done.  :y

bit clear headed now and not stressed out so much so now what can i do about this misfire? all breathers cleaned out, iac cleaned, egr cleaned and blocked off,new cranshaft sensor, new fule filter, new plugs, new leads about 4 months ago. when it was misfiring before i put new leads on i still had a lot of power when accelarating and it didnt seem a problem, now i try to accelarate it struggles to get any power at all as if its not getting enough fuel through and seems lumpy and sort of wobbly on tickover.

could it be fuel filter has gone, needs new dispack, injectors blocked. or something else.
i'm trying so hard to sort it but not as good as you guys been working on the car for 3 days now in all.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs or anything Richey, but have you checked all the plug leads are fully pushed home on the Dispack & plugs and are the leads connected correctly? :-/

Glad you've sorted the Gearbox Rich :y but as for your other problem it does seem like a process of elimination which unfortunately can be time consuming and costly :(.
1st thing I'd try is the fuel filter as we said earlier, also have you tried disconnecting the fuel pipe at the rail to see if your getting a good flow through when you turn it over? Also try removing a plug lead in turn to see if it makes a noticeable difference to the engine's note.

  HTH,
        Pete :).
