I presume the bulbs in my car have not been replaced in 12 years. New cars with HID's seem noticeably brighter so is it the case that HID bulbs dull over time?
On a slightly different note, is it possible to retrofit the 50w kits into the Omega?

Cheers for that,
Here is the type of kit I was waffling on about...

I assume you`re thinking of upgrading the existing HID`s on your Elite :question

Yes that's right.
I am also thinking of reconditioning the surface of the light housing as per the guide in the maintenance guide part of the forum.

I don't know why you would want to replace the excellent factory HIDs with a cheap aftermarket "upgrade" kit. Just get some new bulbs for your current setup if you suspect they are getting tired.

Are your current headlights HID or standard projector?
If HID then they might dim very slightly over the years but in my experience not much. They turn a pinkish colour just before they go completely and ain't cheap to replace. Mine cost me around £70 including fitting but I think the lamps on their own are about £55-£65 depending on make and source.
