Post by: gsxmax1 on 14 October 2010, 13:26:41

apart from electrical connectors differences, are there any differences in the floor mounting points for the front seats during the reign of the omega?

eg can i fit later front seats to an early omega

cheers for info

As far as I know, no difference in the floorpan mounting. I have fit mini-facelift seats into a facelift car before. There was a difference in the seatbelt pretensioner plug which we got around by swapping the whole pretensioners over from the original seats. We then had the usual problem of finding the right pin to power up the memory module as we were fitting elite seats into a facelift CD. The heat function couldn't be used as the old seats are on/off but the facelift has a control with different power settings. You may have that problem but the other way around.

also worth noting if you plan on putting elite seats in a non elite car you need the bolts from the donor vehicle as they are longer on the elite seats.  :y

was looking at putting cheap 2001 mv6 seats into a 94 gls.

Ah yeah well remembered vauxfan. The full electric frames of the elite seats are different and need longer bolts. MV6 seats should use the same frames as your GLS seats and hence the same bolts. Grab the MV6 bolts just in case.
