My 2.6 manual seems to have developed a starting issue. First attempt at starting when cold, turn the key and the temperature light and fuel light come on, it starts and dies straight away. Try it again and it's as good as gold. No codes found via the pedal trick, no eml or emissions light either, and no idle issue etc. My first thought was crank sensor, but I've never had that issue before so don't really know what to expect with it.
Any ideas greatly received :y

Sounds to me like strange "stray" electrics as the fuel/temp lights don't normally light up. First things I would check are both the battery terminals for tightness/cleanliness and the cables from them for any problems. I would then check the 0V (earth) connections of both the battery and the engine. I would then check all the connections in the triangular junction box by the battery as I believe one of them feeds the ECU.
HTH :)

Thank you Nige, that's something I shall investigate :y

very strange, doubt crank sensor, and if not a loose battety or earth(?) connection i might be making an appointment to see TB.

Hmmm, live data on the CTS might be worthwhile if nothing else found...
