Sadly wrong....

Its:

1-3-5
0-0-0
0-0-0
4-6-2

Reason being that its a wasted spark setup and hence it sparks towards the end of the compression stroke and also on the wasted spark, at the other end of the coil, on the end of the exhaust stroke.

Given we have a firing order of 1-2-3-4-5-6

Then we get

Ignition Spark    Wasted Spark
14
25
36
41
52
63

See baffled again
If as Andy B says his is connected 462

How is it others are different - does the type of pack matter be it oblong connector or oval? or does the engine size matter 2.5 or 3.0 as Andy Bs is?
Or none of the above

Yeah guys there are different coil packs! we are supposed to swap each HT lead one by one so as not to get messed up! I got messed up by not knowing about the alternate shape plug on them, i got my car in bits now and found out that the connector is different DOH! rookie mistakes all round then. Hope you get yours sorted and also hoping that I dont forget which way round mine goes by the time the new one comes

You could always look at the numbers on the DIS pack.  ;)Cylinders 1 3 & 5 are driver's side and 2 4 & 6 passenger side  :y  :y

Hi, I have changed my coil pack on my omega elite 1999 yesterday to a new one, and there is no difference to put things right than the old one. As the old one there was no spark on port 1 and 4. As to the firing order the HT leads are on the pack as numbered being

                        ......5............3................1.
 THIS IS THE
 ELECTRIC PLUG
    SIDE

                        ......2............6................4.

So now on the engine itself for the HTleads to connect on the plugs as i aint got a manual workshop, although it is stamped under the electric harness which is hard to see, could you please give me as from the above in the coil where they go on engine as the firing order? looking at the front of the car towards the front wipers please? As what is happening with the new coil pack in place and then start it up it makes a popping sound and its hard for it to tick over itself.

Look at the engine from the passenger side, straight down to left of the ICV there is a little diagram telling you which cylinder is which. You may need a torch to see/read it.
