Title: Some sort of immobiliser problem?
Post by: bluey on 15 October 2010, 22:41:09
I've had an intermittent fault over the last couple of weeks which has got worse and so any suggestions would be really welcome.

When leaving the car lock it up via the remote as usual, only to find on several occasions the darned thing silently flashing its indicators rapidly about 30 seconds after it has been left and a siren wailing almost inaudibly.

It doesn't appear to be any different if it has been double-locked or not, and it can go on and on for ages or stop after a minute or so.  I was wondering if it is a closure sensor of some sort playing up, or some sort of warning to me to get something fixed?  Or maybe it's a coded message of the six numbers for the Lottery?  I haven't a clue but if anyone does pelase quietly put me out of my misery!

Cheers, I'll have a look tomorrow.  Will that stop this flashing light palaver or just the unbelievably rubbish alarm that wouldn't scare off a mouse?

"Rubbish alarm" is due to sounder batteries failing. Once sounder is disconnected if you still get problems with indicators flashing, disconnect bonnet alarm sensor

Sounds like something is setting alarm off, but the alarm horn is knackered (common fault)
