Title: EGR Valve
Post by: RexNoctis on 17 October 2010, 14:00:20
Hi all,

I'm doing some work on my miggy (replacing water pump and AC belts) and I've noticed that there is no vacuum pipe connected to what appears to be the EGR valve on the front right of the engine. (2.5TD tractor)

Is this valve normally open or closed? Where should the connecting pipe run to? Is missing this pipe causing a loss of power as the car does seem slightly gutless at low revs but I assumed this is because it needed chipping badly!  :)

EGR valve normally closed, only opens during certain running conditions.
Vacuum pipe runs from EGR valve to the egr solenoid which sits under the bonnet switch.
It would not cause lack of power. However a split or blocked pipe going to the underside of the inlet manifold would.
