Title: Evaporating Whisky!
Post by: Vamps on 12 January 2008, 01:38:20
Is it just me or are Whisky bottles smaller? Or do they allow evaporation more than they used to do? Or do they leak, can’t blame the kids, tried that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sitting here quire happily, SWMBO gone to bed, looking around oof and ebay, while watching a film and my bottle has gone down a long way, I have noticed this a lot recently, often wondered what the recycle men think!
Anyone else experience the same problems with their bottles?

I have quite a few bottle of whiskey, some opened some not, and can assure you there is no evaporation, and even if there was it would condense in the bottle................I think someone's been at your whiskey, either that or you've forgot how much you actually drank :o ;D

Must just be that Irish 'whiskey' stuff that evoparates....

The Scots 'Whisky', unless some bathtub has been knobbing it, is just as I left it.....    :D

Check the spelling, big guy.

Real Scotch is 'whisky' whilst Irish is 'Whiskey'.

Common spilling mustook....

Just to confirm that my Whisky is Whisky, none of that Whiskey stuff.
Whiskey may evaporate and Whisky condense back into the bottle but I can assure you that my Whisky must be condensing in some other  bu**ers  bottle cos is sure is not mine,  the same thing is happening tonight. Pour out a reasonable drink or two or so, look at the bottle and where the **** has it all gone!!!!
I guess this is just one of life’s many little mysteries then.

A certain amount of whiskey will evaporate from your mouth in your breath, unless you keep your lips sealed, then it just evaporates to the brain. To best way to get around this is to have it drip fed.  ;) ;)

Being a bit of a whisky man myself, I can't say I've noticed any evaporation... even when I make the bottle last TWO nights  ;)
