Well this is my second Omega that the joints are rotting where the exhaust meets the cats and its the cat side thats rough. The exhaust looks like its only been on the car a couple of years showing very little rust.
Anybody managed to replace the couplings? I am thinking of chopping back the rusty section if I can get just the coupling.
Also sizes or where to buy from, if poss.

Ye gods yes. five years ago my exhaust cat back were rotten after the joints. I was in Malaga and couldn't get V6 replacement exhaust for love nor money or time.
Went top a little man in a lock up. He chopped out the rusted sections and welded in situ new lengths of pipe. Cured the problem however a week later started blowing at the now U joints. since then I have bodged a new exhaust system and two new cats. Last month I got the fellow to weld back ne of the joints. I must have had my cats off the car more than any other forum member. Spent a fortune on Cat to manifold O rings.
My advice . Keep it standard. Perhaps get some S?h cats from a breaker on the forum. Scrap your cats. Overall cost -mvery little and it is all still standard.
PS the guy only charged me 22 euros (about £18) to weld back on my sawn off couplings on one side.
