Title: New exhaust seamed to have a big impact on mpg
Post by: tunnie on 05 October 2006, 16:04:38
just before i came down to uni i fitted a brand new GM exhaust cat back, the old one was blowing. Thanks to TC saved a HUGE amount of cash... (thanks Jaime ;))

Not driven it for about 2 weeks, took it out yesterday to meet a friend. put air in the tyres since it had been still for 2 weeks and let it warmed up....

Reset the MPG computer, left tesco & took a blast down the M4, set the cruise dead on 70 mph.. 30 miles odd. Flipped to the MPG just as i was getting off the M4, read 43.8 MPG!  :o

Then did about 10 mins of town driving lot of roundabouts & lights getting to my friends, once i parked up checked again read 39.4 MPG  :o

Uni going well, friend i went to see had just finished the course i am doing.... wanted to see their work since it got them a First  ;D

 ;D ;D - All legal speeds  ;)

Not sure about Santa Pod, not sure yet how my timetable is changing.... and the work load.

I suspect it will be a last minite yes/no tbh.... if the weather is going to be great that weekend and i have no plans I will be comming. I have Jaimes number so i'll let him know as well.

So many un-expected things are comming up at the moment, work-load, classes moving, modules cancelled, no loan money and so on... and to add to it all the "one that got away" is back .... so can't say yes or no. Sorry about that!

Putting air in the tyres may have helped as well  [smiley=thumbup.gif]

When you get to my age Tunnie.....the brain slows town a tad.....so by the time my eyes have seen the speedo reach 70.....and my brain to tell my finger to press the cruise button....im doing 80 on cruise  ::)

And at that speed, mine still changes down to 3rd going up some motorway hills and if you look at the inst fuel consumption then, its shows around 14mpg  :o

Glad to see your still popping by the site  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
