Title: Back Brake pads

Just curious as to the average mileage from rear disc pads on a V6.

Heard a nasty grinding from o/s back yesterday and when checked disc has got very heavy scouring from the outer edge in about 25mm.

Quite annoyed as only replaced discs and pads last year. When I  checked pads in this summer they were hardly worn after 20k miles.

Since then I have done a further 8k and looks like both pads and discs will need replacing.Fronts are always changed at 10k intervals but expected backs to last a lot longer.

Were they genuine vauxhall parts?

I bought my car 3 1/2 years ago with 42k on the clock and I have literally just changed the rear disks and pads for the first time - at 106k.

I suppose the expression is "Miss Daisy".  :-[

Discs and pads were genuine VX,so expect must have got something wedged in pad to cause that damage to disc as n/s looks to be fine.

Have just ordered new discs and pads from local stealer,due in by morning, so looks like a day on the car Friday.

Thank heavens for T/C card though.....must drive like  "Miss Daisy" in future ,then,Kevin !!

I was quoted £55 for a set of rear pads for my 2.6 from Vauxhall. not on trade card he told me so would do me a deal so we'll call it £50? I told him thanks but no thanks.... bought a set from Motor world ( quinten hazel) make for £13.

Yes Jimbob I was suprised at that too... in fact it was the same bloke behind the counter today that served me with other bits n pieces... he told me they were not on TC even though i bought front discs and pads that were.
Oh well there loss....

Hang on a moment? do you think the parts bloke though I wanted discs aswell?is this why he wanted £55? if so i never asked for them..
