Title: Headlight suppliers anyone?
Post by: stevief on 10 January 2008, 21:32:11
Guys,

Posting here to try and catch as many peeps as possible so sorry if it's not seen as suitable for this section and needs to be moved.

Right the problem is that the passengers side headlight is misting up and is okay once dried out until it rains again so obviously leaking but no leaks to be seen. Phoned local dealer and was quoted £180 per unit and none of the local parts places have a listing due to them being xenons.

Anyone come across a decent priced supplier of new units? If not it's at least one new unit from Vauxhall :'(.

Thanks,

Steve

Facelift? If so, £115 + VAT genuine on TC.

Also, there is a TIS article saying misting is not a fault if mist clears after a set time with lights on (20mins?)

Thanks for that, I need to join ABS sooner rather than later to get that price though.

Don't know about 20 mins with the lights on but deffo about that time with a hairdryer blowing in the main beam hole ;D, the kids think it is great that I'm using a hairdryer again after so many years of being folically challenged so at least somebody is getting something out of the situation ::).

Finally managed to get the headlight out this time, that trim below it is a b***** to get out.

Dryed it out again and will wait until the weather is a bit better before going for a full re-seal as I guess there will be some setting time required before re-fitting into the car. In the interim I've thrown on some mastic around the outside edge of the lens so I'll see how that goes for now.
