I decided to nip in past the local dealers on Saturday to purchase a liter of differential oil. Blank looks ensued when the LSD was mentioned and therefore I couldn't use standard oil to top up with. After checking with the mechanic on duty the part number was entered into the computer. I was then informed that the oil was £6.75 +VAT but they have never stocked it.
I was then told that they would gladly order it in but as it is not a stock part I would need to purchase the full box of 12 :o.
My polite decline to this then instigated the "I will check with my Manager on Monday and call you back" which they have now done.
The response this morning was that they have been on to Vauxhall technical to ascertain the correct oil for my diff but Vauxhall can only provide the information once they have the gearbox details. No matter how much I tried they will not accept that they should be able to provide the information without having to refer to the gearbox type so they have been told that I will source it elsewhere.
I wouldn't like to think our all knowing one has made a mistake when he wrote the Diff Oil Change how to but he defiinately missed the refill of the gearbox and checking the feed line along the propshaft ::).
I am deffinately running out of garages I can trust!

What a joke.
Sounds like they haven't twigged that it's RWD and thus has a separate diff :o

Aberdeen may be the oil capital of europe but I can only find Comma oil for LSDs so far.
More of a concern is that the main dealer obviously don't use the recommended oil.
