Title: Anti freeze
Post by: alcutler on 25 October 2010, 16:31:28
Hi, Thinking of draining my 2.0 Omega estate and replacing it with new antifreeze mixture Thinking of using Vauxhall antifreeze via the trade club Is it a concentrate and any idea how much I will need to get good protection.  Doesn't give much detail in the Book

It is concentrated so as 2.0 engines are generally hold around 9.0 litres of coolant, if you use a full 5 litre can you won't be much over the 50/50 mix that RobG has said. Tunnie has done a guide somewhere.  :y  :y  :y But in short, drain and flush till all traces of previous anti-freeze has gone. Drain final time, put all your can of anti-freeze in & top up with clean (preferably soft) water. Run engine without header tank cap, & top up as required. Replace cap and keep an eye on it for the next day or so.  :y
